Merry Christmas!

This Christmas season we again have opportunity to exuberantly express our gratitude for God’s timelygift of a Savior and salvation! At just the right time, Christ came to earth (Gal. 4:4) and died for sin to offer us salvation (Rom. 5:6). The testaments of Scripture teach that God’s timing and tactics are good and bring Him glory, though they are often costly and uncomfortable.

Interestingly, at this time God is presenting Converge PacWest with three truly unique opportunities that involve financial support. Let me explain.

Ministry Mentor. One of PacWest’s most accomplished church leaders will be transitioning out of his pastoral role in 2019, and he has indicated an interest in assisting the district in mentoring ministers and assisting churches at critical ministry junctures. Having a mentor with such a heart for God and breadth of ministry experience is a truly extraordinary benefit for PacWest! Our staff and Board are thrilled with this prospect, and we are looking to fund part of this role through special donations. Aim: $18,000 click here to donate for the Ministry Mentor

Faith Community Resource Coordinator for Butte County (following their unprecedented Camp Fire). Pastor Luke and Joy Buyert, church planters from Lifespring Church in Chico, have been on the front lines from the outset of the Camp Fire’s relief efforts in and around the city of Paradise. The Chico Area Pastors Network has approached Luke with the part-time role of Faith Community Resource Coordinator. This role would be funded in part by Butte County churches and partly through Luke’s personal and church network (that’s us!). We are thankful for this opening for Luke—to lead churches in living and giving the gospel at such a critical time and place. Aim: $12,000  click here to donate for the Faith Community Resource Coordinator

Compass Pastoral RenewalConverge has a strong history of helping pastors become all that God has called them to be. At no time in our history has the spiritual, emotional and relational health of the pastor been more critical. As a matter of fact, it is our contention that the health of a church is often directly related to the health of the lead pastor. Compass, Converge’s dynamic, proven, three-day pastoral couples’ retreat, will be hosted in our district in the Spring of 2019 for eight PacWest couples. We are raising funds to subsidize this retreat. Aim: $3,000  click here to donate for the Compass Pastoral Renewal

Would you prayerfully consider how God might ask you to partner this season? I hope you will join Sandy and me as we consider what level of sacrifice we can make to support these timely works that align with our calling to start and strengthen churches together worldwide for the glory of God!

Better Together,
