The Converge Assessment Center is one of the longest running, most influential and highly trusted Church Planting Assessment Centers in the country. Some of the best Church Planters in the country have participated in an Assessment Center, and currently serve as assessors for new, potential Church Planters. The Converge Assessment Center is under the led by Dr. Curt Gruber and Marlan Mincks who are building on the proven foundation provided by decades of experience, and upgrade the our process to be contextually current.
The Assessment Center helps you answer two essential questions: Is church planting really for me? and secondly, Am I ready to plant a church now? It is an intensive four day event staffed by multiple, trained assessors to encourage and observe Church Planting candidates. Candidates have the opportunity to preach, cast vision and work in team settings. It is an opportunity for candidates to meet with counselors and assessors to prepare for life as a Church Planter. Assessors provide a personalized and thorough assessment of Church Planting candidates.
Luke 14:28 tells us to count the cost before becoming a disciple a Christ, using the analogy of considering what resources we have before we build a building. It is important for you to realistically answer the two questions above before jumping into church planting. The Assessment center can give you honest and clear answers before you begin.
The Converge Assessment Center is one of the oldest and most reliable in the country with nearly two decades of practical experience. Converge has a high rate of success in Church Planting, directly related to its world-class Assessment Center. Several other denominations and para-church organizations have modeled their process after ours, for example: Evangelical Covenant Church, Growing Healthy Churches, Green Lake, etc.
Provides answers to many Church Planting questions, gives input into your possible future involvement in Church Planting, and allows networking with other Church Planting couples who share the similar interests and passions. Based on this intensive multi-day process, the team of assessors will pray, discuss, evaluate and collate their findings to give you the best personal Assessment possible.
